Master Concession Air Delivers Interactive Experience at Orlando International Airport Samsonite Store

Customers Can Try Luggage Pieces Before They Buy

ORLANDO, Fla. (December 17, 2018) — You roll your luggage across the asphalt of the parking lot, through the tile of the lobby and the carpet of the terminal, stow it in the overhead bin and tuck it beneath your seat and turn to look out the airplane windows—and you do it all before you ever buy an airline ticket.

The new Samsonite store at the Orlando International Airport makes it possible. Airport retail leader Master ConcessionAir (MCA) worked with the iconic luggage manufacturer to deliver a unique, interactive retail experience that allows customers to try products before they buy.

Located in the pre-security B-side of Orlando International Airport’s main terminal, the 850-square-foot Samsonite store offers several interactive zones that simulate authentic airplane experiences. The store even features repurposed airline seats and overhead bins guests can use to see how luggage fits before purchasing. To bring the display to life even further, the Orlando Samsonite store is the first airport store to simulate airplane windows and magnetic signs resembling airplane fins.

Additionally, the store features a carry-on luggage sizer and luggage scale, as well as flooring treatments that simulate how bags glide over asphalt, tile, and carpet.

“Travelers today want experiences,” said Peter Amaro, CEO of MCA. “Being able to give them that while delivering piece of mind about their luggage is a win-win and doing that while working with Samsonite, the leader in durable, innovative travel pieces, felt like the perfect fit.” Founded more than 100 years ago, Samsonite is a worldwide leader in travel bags, luggage and accessories, combining style with the latest technology. The brand is known for attention to quality and durability.

The Orlando International Airport store is now open.

MCA has a longstanding relationship with the Orlando International Airport. The company aims to bring top brands and unique retail and dining concepts to airports around the world.

Master Concession Air Completes Two Innovative Concepts at Miami International Airport

International Brands Desigual and Tous Open Spaces in Concourse E

MIAMI (Nov. 5, 2018) — Jetsetters at Miami International Airport want to look bold, colorful, chic and fun, wherever they are in the world. Two worldwide fashion brands will make that easier for travelers on the go.

Master ConcessionAir (MCA) recently brought renowned brands Desigual and TOUS to Miami International Airport, creating exciting retail space and more opportunities for travelers.

TOUS offers customers modern and practical fine jewelry and accessories. Known for its iconic teddy bear, the brand infuses a sense of fun into easy-to-wear pieces. Desigual aims to dress people differently. With splashes of bright color and unique prints, the brand exudes positivity and creativity, while remaining the peak of fashion.

MCA set out to highlight each brand for shoppers. As part of the project, the company created a cart to display select TOUS pieces, as well as a separate point of sale station. The flexible set up makes it easy and convenient to locate the shop in a variety of airport locations, meeting customers where they are and driving retail sales.

MCA also created a unique cube for Desigual, playing off the brand’s constant drive for innovation. The 230-square-foot store features white accents and clear panels. The design allows for shelves, racks and displays to be easily reconfigured for a different shopping experience. It also makes it easy to set up and close the space for retail hours.

“Today’s travelers want the brands they know and love wherever they are,” said Peter Amaro, CEO of MCA. “At the same time, airports have to find the most efficient use of space while optimizing revenue. These kiosk projects are a win-win, and we’re proud to bring them to Miami International Airport.”

Both the new TOUS cart and Desigual cube are located in Concourse E. MCA, a leader in airport retail concepts, previously helped bring a larger Desigual unit and a larger TOUS store to other locations in the airport.

This is the first time MCA has created the unique cube kiosk, which focuses on women’s clothing. It is also the first time Desigual has debuted such a concept in the U.S.

“We’re constantly thinking outside the box—or in this case, the cube,” Amaro said. “Airports need innovative ways to make the most of walkways and unused space to offer travelers the best experience, and we deliver. We hope to bring similar concepts to other airports soon.”

MCA has a longstanding relationship with Miami International Airport, as well as a strong presence throughout airports in the Southeast.

Master Concession Air Completes Projects at Two Major US Airports

Airport Dining Leader Introduces New Concept, Drives Revenue in D.C., Atlanta

MIAMI, Fla. (May 10, 2018) — Master ConcessionAir (MCA), a leader in the airport dining industry, recently completed two projects in major U.S. airports, introducing a new concept and immediately driving airport revenue.

The first, located in Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), introduced a first-of-its-kind concept for Pizza Hut. MCA worked with YUM Brands to develop its first full-service dining experience, including a full bar, a full-service dining room and a full QSR counter.

The $1.8 million project encompassed a 2,015-square-foot space in Concourse D, which is served by United Airlines. MCA worked with the brand and airport throughout the process, from the RFP selection and design to menu development and operations.

MCA also recently completed a project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) to drive airport revenue. The company worked in conjunction with both the brand and the airport to complete a new Sbarro, located in Concourse C, which is served by Delta Airlines.

MCA was involved throughout the process, from RFP selection and design to buildout and operations. The $2 million project turned an empty waiting area into the 745-square-foot QSR space that will act as a revenue generator for the airport.

Peter Amaro Jr., CEO of MCA, said both projects exemplify the company’s strengths and mission.

“At MCA, our goal is to bring comfort to travelers and generate revenue for airports all around the world, which sometimes includes thinking out of the box,” Amaro said. “We’re pleased to have worked with both the industry leaders, in Sbarro and Pizza Hut on these projects to further our goal of serving the world one guest at a time.”
