Orlando Food Spots Enjoys Cask & Larder’s Inviting Atmosphere and Warm, Southern-Style Cuisine

Local foodie blogger Orlando Food Spots recently stopped by Orlando International Airport to sample the southern-style offerings of Cask & Larder. Bryan tried classic dishes like shrimp & grits, chicken with a Nashville rub, mac & cheese and apple crisp.

During his visit, Bryan totally grasped what we at MCA aim to deliver with concepts like this:  exceptional food, an inviting atmosphere, and a true taste of Orlando—all right in the airport.

“Their southern-style cuisine is composed of locally-sourced vendors, in efforts to give back to the Orlando community. It allows travelers to enjoy a true, Orlando meal on their way out. Their Satellite bar also provides adult travelers an unwinding environment with cold drinks and a relaxing vibe.

I appreciate that Cask & Larder strives to offer weary travelers a cozy experience between connecting flights. Their dishes are more than just ‘airplane food’ as they capture real southern flavor. This is a great dining option when you want comfort food that surpasses the other chain eateries in the terminal. It alleviates the stress of travelling and allows visitors to sit back and enjoy a great meal with a refreshing drink.”

Orlando International Airport’s Cask & Larder Named to Two USA Today 10 Best Lists

Popular Orlando Restaurant Recognized Among Best Airport Dining in US

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 5, 2019) — Your next trip to Orlando International Airport just got upgraded. MCO eatery Cask & Larder, operated by Master ConcessionAir, has once again been named among the best airport dining locations in the country.

The Winter Park favorite turned airport eatery took second place on USA Today’s 10Best list of Best Airport Local/Regional Dining, beating out restaurants from all over the country.

The restaurant also claimed the second-place spot on the Best Airport Bar/Restaurant Atmosphere list.

For the past four years, USA Today 10Best and Airport Experience News (AXN) have partnered to find North America’s best airports and airport concessions. AXN, a top industry trade, narrowed it down to several finalists, then 10Best readers were given four weeks to vote on their favorites daily.

This is the third year Cask & Larder has been recognized among the best airport dining by USA Today 10Best. In 2018, the airport restaurant was second on the Best Airport Local/Regional Dining and fifth on the Best Airport Sit-down Dining lists.

Cask & Larder at the Orlando International Airport is a concept of Master ConcessionAir, a leader in the airport dining industry. MCA taps into the latest trends to deliver unique brands and experiences to travelers. Cask & Larder does this by bringing the farm to the terminal experience through its southern-inspired fare and fresh seasonal selections created by James Beard nominated chefs Julie and James Petrakis.

“We are so proud of all the success Cask & Larder has had at Orlando International Airport,” said MCA CEO Peter Amaro Jr. “Master ConcessionAir, together with the Chefs James and Julie Petrakis, are committed to showcasing the many tastes of Cask & Larder at the Orlando International Airport. C&L is dedicated to delivering local farm fresh offerings, which they source daily, as well as Crafted Beers brewed in house and Crafted Cocktails, with specially infused spirits. We also have a vast selection of retail products available to take home, so the traveler can share the experience with friends and family. The traveler’s palette is evolving and becoming more sophisticated by the day. They now expect to have a more exciting and healthy option, such as a farm to terminal restaurant, with a true foodie experience. It’s always been our goal to make traveling more of an experience, and all the feedback from our traveling public together with this recognition shows we’re accomplishing just that.”

Master Concession Air, Cheney Brothers Partner to Serve Federal Airport Employees During Government Shutdown

Companies Unite to Provide Meals for Affected Workers

MIAMI (Feb. 1, 2019) — In the wake of the country’s longest government shutdown, Master ConcessionAir and Cheney Brothers partnered to provide complimentary box lunches to federal workers at Miami International Airport (MIA).

Employees of the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Federal Aviation Administration and United States Department of Agriculture were all invited to pick up a free boxed lunch Jan. 19 at the Chili’s Too, To Go in Terminal G. Though the shutdown ended, the companies continued to support employees as they got back on their feet with another free boxed lunch Jan. 26. In addition to the free meals, MCA doubled its employee discount across all its units in MIA to 20 percent.

“We’re so grateful to all of the federal agencies that continue to work and protect the safety of everyone who is traveling,” said Peter Amaro Jr., CEO of MCA. “We are a community here, so we wanted to show our appreciation for all of their efforts and commitment to keeping the airport running smoothly.”

Even when they were not being compensated during the shutdown, federal agency employees were expected to continue working. Without their dedication, the safety of airports would be at risk.

MCA, a leader in the airport dining and retail industries, has a longstanding relationship with the Miami International Airport and many other airports across the world. The company has a tradition of providing support during times of crisis and looks to continue these efforts in the future.

“Today’s travelers want the brands they know and love wherever they are,” said Peter Amaro, CEO of MCA. “At the same time, airports have to find the most efficient use of space while optimizing revenue. These kiosk projects are a win-win, and we’re proud to bring them to Miami International Airport.”

Both the new TOUS cart and Desigual cube are located in Concourse E. MCA, a leader in airport retail concepts, previously helped bring a larger Desigual unit and a larger TOUS store to other locations in the airport.

This is the first time MCA has created the unique cube kiosk, which focuses on women’s clothing. It is also the first time Desigual has debuted such a concept in the U.S.

“We’re constantly thinking outside the box—or in this case, the cube,” Amaro said. “Airports need innovative ways to make the most of walkways and unused space to offer travelers the best experience, and we deliver. We hope to bring similar concepts to other airports soon.”

MCA has a longstanding relationship with Miami International Airport, as well as a strong presence throughout airports in the Southeast.
